“so unknown nobody knows them” band: BURN PLANETARIUM

Like everyone of you know, in EGWM we like to introduce you new bands. In this EGWM version 2.0 I decided to change a little bit the names we used to use in our old blog. So everytime you see “so unknown nobody knows them” band, we are gonna be talking about a new discovery. So let’s start.

Burn Planetarium  are a rockin’ little four piece (EDIT: five piece now) from Guelph, Ontario that specialize in a very hip sounding teenage punk sound. They sound is a bit like early Police crashing a Bloc Party or, closer to a Canadian band, Born Ruffians, one of my favourite. They have a demo called Valse Mechanique (2008), and despite sporting a plethora of spelling errors, there are some very catchy tunes contained on this 30 minute disc. But they decided to write more songs and work more in some songs from Valse Mechanique and prepare a new cd, Burn Planetarium (you can grab a copy on zunior), and what a change!. Songs like “Death! Death! Death!” lose some punk and get more born ruffians style, new songs like “Chimney Sweep” or “We Shall Meet Our End (By Means Of A Boy And His Magnifying Glass)” (my favourite) have great lyrics and catchy sound!

Just watch the video of the canadian blogotheque, Mitch Fillion, and enjoy!
